Semen Freezing Day – Thirsk, Yorkshire

Due to demand from breeders in Yorkshire, Fit and Fertile will be hosting a dedicated Semen Freezing Day in the YO72 Thirsk area on Saturday 26th September. The event gives dog breeders the opportunity to have semen professionally collected and frozen using state-of-the-art equipment, providing secure long-term storage and helping to preserve valuable genetics for future breeding programmes. Semen freezing is priced at £315 per dog, with a £50 non-refundable deposit required when booking.

Fit and Fertile’s experienced canine reproduction team will also be offering semen analysis for £65, while pregnancy scans will be available on site by appointment.

Fit and Fertile is pleased to introduce a new BVA Hip and Elbow Scoring service at our Carnforth clinic, providing breeders and dog owners with a convenient way to complete the X-rays required for official British Veterinary Association scoring. Appointments take place on Tuesday mornings and include sedation administered by our experienced veterinary team, with digital radiographs prepared and submitted to the BVA for official assessment. Hip and elbow X-rays including sedation are £300, while hip X-rays alone are £225 and elbow X-rays alone are £275.

BVA hip and elbow scoring can provide valuable information about a dog’s joint health and is particularly important for responsible breeding programmes. A £20 non-refundable deposit per dog is required when booking, with BVA submission fees charged separately at £82.50 for a single hip or elbow submission or £150 for a combined hip and elbow submission. Fit and Fertile now offers a dedicated Puppy Vaccination Clinic every Tuesday morning at our Carnforth clinic. Designed to help get your puppy off to the healthiest possible start, each appointment includes their puppy vaccination along with a veterinary health check, giving you added reassurance that your new companion is developing well. The clinic costs £45 per puppy and is available by appointment only.
